My Morning Commute (I Wish)

If there’s one time of year in Texas to rise & shine early, it’s the summer. Temperatures tend to start out fairly warm here in the mornings and within a few hours it’s downright blistering. Since my back problems started a few years ago I’ve found myself enjoying the heat more and more and I’ve become somewhat of a lizard these days. That hot sunshine does wonders for an aching back after just a few minutes of walking around.

Mornings are also a great time for landscape photography here in Texas. The morning sun coming up over the Texas plains is a beautiful sight as it burns through the early morning haze and reveals the canyons in the distance. I’m sure you’ll agree that watching this from the rim of Palo Duro Canyon with a tall cup of coffee in your hand is one of the best ways to greet a new day that I can imagine.

  1. Jeff, that’s gorgeous. I live in Colorado and we have a bit of a superiority complex towards, well, everywhere else, but I LOVE the canyon country and all it’s variations. I really like this photograph, and I agree, a cup of steaming coffee and that view would make me pretty happy.

    • Daniel,

Thanks for reading and for your kind words. I have friends in the Air Force stationed in Colorado Springs. Beautiful place.

      Jeff
