Racing Photography – The Need for Speed

Happy Monday!

I had a great time shooting the BMW / Mini Cooper Autocross event yesterday. The weather was perfect with highs in the upper 90’s, low humidity and a light breeze. Well, perfect for Houston in June anyway. Here are a few images from yesterdays shoot. That’s my brother-in-laws super-charged Mini Cooper in the first shot.

  1. Hey, bro-in-law! I like the picture of my car with the wheels all a blur. That’s the first time I’ve seen a picture of my car with that kind of effect. Next time, take with the car all a blur so I can say I was going 200 mph and you couldn’t keep up!

Where can the other drivers go to see and possibly order photographs from this event?

  2. Well done, sir. Well done. Reminds me that I want to head down to the races at New Egypt or Englishtown this summer.

  3. I’m going to the hydroplane races this weekend. I, also, will be heading to the local dragstrip later this summer. Yeah, I have need for speed!

Nice coverage of a fun event. How’d your BIL do/

  4. First, you should know, your brother and I have the same car! Right down to the paint although his wheels look a little different. That said, fantastic shots!!! Nothing like shooting minis.

    • Thanks Michael!

It’s a great little car but the racing suspension rides a wee bit rough for my lower back to handle. Sure can’t beat a red Mini for looks however!
