Travel Photography – Time

Another thing you’ll find in most small Texas towns is a clock, prominently displayed for all to see. This beautiful clock was sitting right outside the door to the Sante Fe Railroad depot in Brenham, Texas. For those of you not familiar with Brenham, its the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream, the best darn ice cream I’ve ever tasted. I’m sure Matt Brandon fondly remembers the taste of Blue Bell from his days in Texas!

Brenham is also one of the best places in Texas to photograph wildflowers each spring and they even have a web page updated regularly which lists the best time to come out and experience the beauty.

  1. Ironically, some of the towns in my little swatch of New Jersey have clocks like this too, with the town name on them. I’m going to keep my eye out for them now…maybe it’s a new photographic documentation project for me!

    • Hey Mark!

Its funny but after shooting this clock I’ve begun to notice the “town square” clocks in each small town I visit.

  2. I am looking forward to the wildflowers and, while I am at it, a little visit to the creamery.
Have you ever been to Chappell Hill?

    • Michael,

Chappel Hill is another wonderful venue for photographers and especially when the wildflowers bloom. We’re still a few weeks away from the best time for wildflowers but with the warm weather this week it may come sooner.
