Bird Photography – Great Egret Hunting

Here are a couple of shots I took last Saturday evening at the Brazos Bend State Park near Needville, Texas. I watched this Great Egret hunt up and down the shoreline of a little island in one of the park’s many shallow lakes. The Great Egret is a patient and meticulous hunter and will spend hour after hour in search of small fish to feed upon. This behavior makes it a wonderful subject to photograph.

No snow storms here in Southeast Texas John.
You should come and visit sometime. 🙂
