Bird Photography – Red Shouldered Hawk

Here’s an image captured last weekend at the Brazos Bend State Park. This was the first time I’ve seen a hawk at the park close enough (just barely) to get some images. Thank goodness for the extra resolution of the new EOS 50D.

  1. It is testiment to a lot of the reviews I read of the 50D, it’s an awesome body but without the right glass you won’t see the benefit. The 300mm L and 50D combo gave a great result! Absolutly no signs of camera shake!

    • Jamie,

Thanks for reading and for your kind words. This hawk was probably 100 meters away at the time. The wonderful thing about the new 50D is the resolution that allows me to crop down this far and still have a good looking shot.
